Busy Week

Well, this week has been crazy. Ray has fully gone back to work so I guess I've gotten a little spoiled with him taking care of me and me not having to do anything to care for our home....but we decided that we want to do some work on our house and just don't have the extra so ....hiho, hiho...it's off to work he goes. I worked all week too, but on Wednesday put in about a 18.5 hour day...I had decided that I wasn't going to work on Thurs (I get to do that now since I'm the DON : ) ) but my secretary called and reminded me that I had interviews...so once I got to work I decided to stay. Mind you I had only slept about 4 hours on Weds night....I got home from work Thurs afternoon..tired of course....and had to alter my niece's dance costume since dress rehearsal was Fri. UGH...trust me when you're tired you don't want to alter a costume. Anyway I got it done....then work on Fri...do my niece's makeup and hair and spend 6 hours @ the dress rehearsal part of the recital. Get up Sat Morn...go to work for a few hours...go shopping for about 1 hour...most of my clothes are getting too big...I've lost about 40 pounds...go home...get the girls ready for the big night...go to the recital again for about 4 hours....Whew!!! Anyway...the recital was beautiful. Tori and I really love to go each year...though usually she is in the show!! Two of my nieces were in the show this year. Oh....I didn't forget my boys, they went to a temple trip while we were @ the dance recital. Here are a few pictures from the night...Theresa and Katy came down from Alexandria, Mom and Russell were there, John and Richarde Pinegar were there with their new daughter...I'm terrible but I forgot her name, and of course Teresa was there with Becky... Good Job Girls!!! Aunt Shell and Uncle Ray love you sooooo much.

a new season

So Friday was the last day of school...all of our children have been promoted to the next grade...though one by the skin of their teeth. My birthday is coming up and recently I have been thinking about all of the recent changes in my body and life. Back in February I dislocated my knee, man is it taking a long time to heal. I also had extremely high blood pressure when I went to the doctor about my knee so I had to start on some blood pressure meds....my blood pressure is better, but still not exactly where we want it....next my oldest child got married....don't get me wrong, I love my new daughter....but...gulp...one of my children is married!! My next child has started working....they are growing up so fast....Next, over the last couple of months I had hair trauma....my hair started falling out....I swear... I thought I was going bald, and don't even get me started on the gray that is taking over....Last week I went to my doctor who gave me pretty much a clean bill of health, no DM, cholesterol is perfect, thyroid is a little low, but that is easily treated....Now back to my birthday...almost 39 years young....summer begins....a new season of hope for both me and my family....My grandmother's favorite expression comes to mind....God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the Wisdom to know the difference........
