a new season

So Friday was the last day of school...all of our children have been promoted to the next grade...though one by the skin of their teeth. My birthday is coming up and recently I have been thinking about all of the recent changes in my body and life. Back in February I dislocated my knee, man is it taking a long time to heal. I also had extremely high blood pressure when I went to the doctor about my knee so I had to start on some blood pressure meds....my blood pressure is better, but still not exactly where we want it....next my oldest child got married....don't get me wrong, I love my new daughter....but...gulp...one of my children is married!! My next child has started working....they are growing up so fast....Next, over the last couple of months I had hair trauma....my hair started falling out....I swear... I thought I was going bald, and don't even get me started on the gray that is taking over....Last week I went to my doctor who gave me pretty much a clean bill of health, no DM, cholesterol is perfect, thyroid is a little low, but that is easily treated....Now back to my birthday...almost 39 years young....summer begins....a new season of hope for both me and my family....My grandmother's favorite expression comes to mind....God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the Wisdom to know the difference........
